Ungovern.Me

"I refuse to be governed by people who require cruelty, lies, or the erasure of human dignity in order to function." from Ungovernme.com

This is an Angry Gay Grandpa update on our film and a short reflection on the moment we’re living in — and on what it means to pay attention. It’s about the growing divide between command and care in American life, and how care — for people, for truth, for the vulnerable, for the future — is being actively discarded and replaced by force, obedience, and spectacle.

I talk about working on A Still, Small Paw, a dystopian film for trans and LGBTQ youth, and how recent events have begun to feel less like imagination and more like documentation. It’s also about not knowing exactly what to do — but knowing that bearing witness still matters. That telling stories still matters. That altering how we see the world is one of the few tools we have left. Ungovern.me may just be a place to put anger, grief, and resistance — a refusal to be governed by cruelty, lies, or the erasure of human dignity. This is where I am. This is what I see. And this is me saying: keep going. https:
